How to Create and Use Saved Views in the Startup Portfolio

Learn how to create, save, and manage custom views in the Startup Portfolio — including how to combine filters, adjust columns, control visibility, and quickly switch between saved configurations.

The Saved Views feature in the Startup Portfolio allows users to create and store customized views of their startup data. Instead of reconfiguring filters and columns every time, you can save your exact setup and return to it in one click — or share it with specific roles across your team.

Where to Find Saved Views

Navigate to Startups in the top menu to open the Startup Portfolio. The Saved Views button is located in the top area of the portfolio page.

Step-by-Step

1. Configure Your Filters in Grid View

In Grid View, you can apply the following filters before saving a view:

  • Active Only — A checkbox to show only active startups. Toggle it on or off as needed.
  • Industries
  • Tags
  • Date startup was created
  • Date of last update
  • Current programs
  • Number of founders
  • User connected
  • Custom fields from the startup file

Apply the combination of filters that reflects the segment or view you want to save.

2. Adjust Columns in Table View

Switch to Table View to control which data columns are visible:

  1. Click the Columns button.
  2. Toggle individual columns on or off using the switches.
  3. The column selection will be included when you save the view.
3. Save the Current View

Once your filters and columns are configured:

  1. Click Saved Views.
  2. Click Save Current View.

  1. Fill in the view details:

    • Name — Enter a descriptive name to identify the view later.
    • Description — Add a brief note about the view's purpose.
    • Who can see this view? — Choose who can access this view:
      • Private (only you)
      • All users
      • Specific user roles
  2. If your platform uses multiple languages, you must provide both the English version of the name and description and the version in your selected language (e.g. Spanish) to save successfully.

  3. Click Save.

The view is now saved with all your filters and column settings, and will be accessible according to the visibility rules you set.

4. Apply a Saved View
  1. Click the Saved Views dropdown.
  2. Select any available view to apply it instantly.

All filters and columns from that saved configuration will be applied automatically. The portfolio will always open in Grid View regardless of what was active when the view was saved.

Best Practices

  • Name views clearly. Use names that reflect the purpose, such as "Active Startups — Cohort 2025" or "Fintech — No Founders Connected", so teammates can identify them at a glance.
  • Use visibility settings intentionally. Set views to Private while building and testing them, then update to All users or specific roles once they are ready to share.
  • Combine grid filters and table columns for the most useful views. Filters narrow down which startups are shown; columns control what data is visible for each one — using both together makes your saved views significantly more powerful.
  • Remember that access for non-admin users is controlled in User Role Settings. If a teammate cannot see a saved view, check their role permissions first.
