Types of users in AcceleratorApp

Types of users

AcceleratorApp has three broad user categories.

1. Incubator/Accelerator team members (employees)
2. Incubator/Accelerator network
3. End user of the Incubator/Accelerator

Each category has sub roles, with their permission level.

Incubator/Accelerator Team Members (employees)

This category of roles has the most power in the incubator/accelerator software as they have the most visibility, and some can modify the settings of the organization. On the basic AcceleratorApp plan, 2 licenses for these roles are included.

These roles are used by the employees or partners of the accelerator, incubator, or otherwise, the organization for this general account is created.

This category includes the following roles:

1. staff
2. coach
3. sub-admin
4. admin
5. admin&coach

File access

The roles staff, coach, admin, and admin&coach, will have access to see all information about the users of your account in AcceleratorApp while the role sub-admin, will only have access to the files of users he/she is assigned to, either directly or to a program, the user is part of.

Create & edit access

The Admin, and Admin&Coach accounts have the full power of editing in AcceleratorApp. They also have full access to the Admin Panel including the following sub-menus User Management, Mentor Management, Programs/Coaching Settings, Metrics & Data Collection, Forms Settings, Email Settings, General Settings. Further one these roles wil give access to the Application Funnel editing.

The Sub-Admin has a mixture of mentor privileges for programs and application funnels he/she is not assigned to and admin privileges for programs and funnels he/she is assigned to.

Network

This category of roles is supportive of the organization. They offer visibility to the user of files they have been expressly assigned to. On the basic AcceleratorApp plan, an unlimited number of licenses for these roles are typically included.

These roles are used by mentors, experts, advisors, evaluators, and otherwise, contributors to the organization without necessarily being an employee.

This category includes the following roles:

1. mentor: used when you are inviting a user to join your incubator/accelerator on AcceleratorApp as mentor. See more details here
2. expert: used when you are inviting a user to join your incubator/accelerator on AcceleratorApp as an expert. See more details here
3. evaluator: used when you are inviting a user to join your incubator/accelerator on AcceleratorApp as an evaluator. See more details here

The mentor and expert roles have the same privileges. They have a different name as most incubators/accelerators will have people either focused on entrepreneurship itself or towards core expertise that startups will need.

General access

Evaluators, Mentors, and Experts all have access to the following menus Account including Scheduling abilities, Tasks, Applications, and Search Community.

Application files access

The applications overview table is available to these roles, but will only display the application files for which the evaluator, mentor, or expert is assigned to either meet or evaluate currently.

Startup files access

The mentors and experts will also have access to the Mentoring Dashboard, with access to startup files they were expressly assigned to. The users of role type Evaluators have no access to the mentoring dashboard, as they only work with applicants, not startups.

End-user

This category of roles is the core of the application as each organization is built around and for them. On the basic AcceleratorApp plan, an unlimited number of licenses for these roles are typically included.

These roles are used by founders or founders in becoming to interact with their incubator or accelerator via AcceleratorApp software.

This category includes the following roles:

1. applicant: used automatically when someone is applying to an incubator. See more details here
2. founder: used either by inviting someone as a founder on AcceleratorApp or when accepting an applicant as a startup to your incubator or accelerator. See more about founder roles here
3. community member: used either by inviting someone as a community member on AcceleratorApp or when accepting an applicant as a community member in your incubator or accelerator. See more about community member here

The main difference between founder and community member is the startup. The startup is separated from the founder's account but is linked to it. While the community member may not have a startup just yet, this role is most often used for hackathons, foundries, or other programs that focus on the entrepreneur themselves as opposed to the founder.
