How to take notes of your coaching sessions?

A guide on how to take notes of your coaching sessions or meeting.


Coaching Sessions 

Coaching sessions in AcceleratorApp facilitate structured interactions between mentors and startups. These sessions allow participants to take notes, assign tasks, and share relevant documents.

 

Accessing a Coaching Session

When a coaching session or meeting is scheduled, you will receive:

  • A notification and an email with the session details (date and time).
  • An event entry in your calendar.

As Mentors you can also find your coaching sessions by:

  • Navigating to the Startup File.
  • Clicking on the Coaching Sessions tab.

As Founder you can also find your coaching sessions by:

  • Navigating to the Startup section
  • Clicking on the Coaching Sessions tab.

Step-by-Step Actions

During the Meeting:
Founders and mentors can:

  • Take open notes during the discussion. Both founders and meeting hosts can record key insights, action items, or feedback directly in the session. Private notes are visible to the Admin and Coaches.
  • Take closed notes visible by founders but not editable by them
  • Create tasks for action items and track follow-ups.
  • Upload relevant documents via the file function in the bottom corner.
  • Evaluate the session: option available just for the hosts of the meetings by clicking on the Meeting topics.

Ending a Meeting:

Notes will be saved and visible in both the Activities tab and the Coaching Session tab.

Tips for Founders

  • Prepare for the Session: Come with questions or specific challenges you'd like to address. This makes the coaching session more effective and valuable.
  • Take Notes: Document key takeaways, feedback, and tasks during the session. It will help you track progress and implement advice.
  • Review After the Session: Go through your session notes to assess what was discussed and act on feedback promptly.
  • Follow Up: If a task was assigned during the session, take the necessary actions and update your mentor on the progress.

 

Tips for Mentors

  • Clarify Objectives: Set clear expectations and goals for each session, ensuring both you and the founder understand what to achieve.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer actionable insights that will help the founder move forward. Be specific and provide real-life examples when possible.
  • Use the Notes Feature: Record important points during the session to ensure that both you and the founder can reference them later.
  • Be Available for Follow-up: If the founder has questions or needs further clarification, make time for follow-up communication or future sessions to provide additional support.
  • Encourage Accountability: Assign tasks and follow up on them during future sessions to ensure the startup is progressing and taking necessary steps.
