How to Add Co-Founders to Your Startup

Adding co-founders to your startup allows them to manage your startup profile alongside you in AcceleratorApp. Co-founders will have the same access level as you — there is no difference between your permissions and theirs.

Where to Find the Co-Founder Invitation

From your Startup page, navigate to the Company Information tab using the tab selector at the top left. Scroll down to the Team section where you will find two options: Add From Existing Co-Founders and Invite New Co-Founders.

Step-by-Step

1. Choose How to Add Your Co-Founder

There are two ways to add a co-founder:

  • Add From Existing Co-Founders — search for and link someone who already has a Co-Founder account on the platform. No invitation email is sent.
  • Invite New Co-Founders — send an email invitation to someone who does not yet have any account on the platform.

2. Invite a New Co-Founder

If your co-founder does not have an account yet:

  • Click Invite New Co-Founders.
  • Enter their first name, last name, and email address.
  • To invite more than one co-founder at a time, click Add Founder to add additional entries.
  • Click Send Invitation.

The co-founder will receive an email with a button to create their account and set a password. Once they complete the sign-up, they will be automatically linked to your startup.

3. Add an Existing Co-Founder User

If your co-founder already has a Co-Founder account on the platform:

  • Click Add From Existing Co-Founders.
  • Search for their name in the dropdown and select them.

If your co-founder has an account on the platform but with a different user type (e.g. applicant, student, or other), they will not appear in the dropdown and the email invitation will not work. In this case, contact your program administrator via Contact Us — they will update the user type and manually assign the co-founder to your startup.

Best Practices

  • Check first if your co-founder already has a Co-Founder account. Using Add From Existing Co-Founders is the fastest option — no email or sign-up required.
  • If your co-founder has an account with a different user type, contact your admin early. The manual reassignment requires admin action, so the sooner you flag it, the sooner they get access.
  • Double-check the email address before sending an invitation. An incorrect email means the invitation will not reach the right person.
