Introduction to Filtering Applications
Learn how to filter and search applications in AcceleratorApp — from quick filters and keyword search to advanced date, tag, and evaluation filters — to find exactly the candidates you need and take action in bulk.
The Filtering Applications tool is a comprehensive engine designed to help administrators, evaluators, and mentors navigate through large volumes of candidate data. By using specific criteria — from funnel stages to individual form answers — this feature allows you to find exactly what you need in seconds.
This feature is essential for managing high-volume intakes and performing batch processes, such as assigning tags or sending bulk emails to targeted groups.
Some filtering capabilities described in this article may only be available on specific AcceleratorApp plans. If you do not see a particular filter option in your account, please contact the AcceleratorApp Client Success team to check your plan's feature availability.
Where to Find the Applications Overview
Click on Applications from the Home page or the top navigation menu to open the Applications Overview page — your central hub for all application-related data.

Step-by-Step
1. Use the Keyword Search
Click the blue magnifying glass icon in the search bar to open the keyword search panel. From here you can:
- Type keywords to search across application data.
- Select where to search using the Search In options:
- Evaluation form
- Application form
- Meeting notes
- Activity messages
- Toggle Include application filters in search on or off to combine your keyword search with any active filters.

2. Use the Primary Search and Quick Filters
- Use the search bar to find specific applications by name, email, or User ID.
- Select a specific funnel from the dropdown to narrow results to one intake.
- Use the Status filter to see applicants at specific stages (e.g. Submitted, Round X, Accepted, Rejected, or Under Review).
3. Apply Task-Specific Checkboxes
- Evaluation required from me — Show only applications where you have a pending evaluation task.
- Decision needed — View applications that have completed their current round and are ready for an admin decision (Accept/Reject).
- Only my evaluations — View only your individual evaluation results instead of the default combined average.
4. Use Advanced Filtering via "+ Add Filter"
Click + Add Filter to access detailed system filters:
- Date filters — Filter by Application Creation, Application Submission, or User Creation date using options like: is today, is yesterday, is this week, in the month, on, on or after, on or before, after, before, or between dates.
- Tag logic — Filter by Application Tag or User Tag using:
- Is any of — Applicant has at least one of the selected tags.
- Is none of — Applicant has none of the selected tags.
- Is all of — Applicant has every single selected tag.
- User data — Filter by Is Lead (true/false), Application Archived (true/false), or User total number of applications (using operators like is, greater than, less than, etc.).
- Administrative tracking — Filter by Todo by evaluators (find specific evaluators with pending actions) or Rejection type (filter by the specific reason for rejection).
5. Use Dynamic Contextual Filters
Once you select a specific funnel or a round with an evaluation step, the + Add Filter menu will display contextual filters:
- Form questions — Filter applications based on specific answers provided in the application form.
- Evaluation details — Filter by Assigned Evaluator, Number of Evaluators, Number of Evaluators Completed, Evaluation Date, and individual questions or scores from the evaluation form.
6. Manage Views and Bulk Actions
- Once filters are applied, select the checkboxes next to applications to perform batch processes (e.g. assign/unassign tags or send emails).
- Click the Search Views icon to save your current filter configuration for future use.
Best Practices
- Use keyword search with Search In for precision. Searching within a specific form or activity type (e.g. Application form only) significantly reduces noise compared to a broad search.
- Sync columns with filters. Set your display columns to match your active filters — for example, if filtering by Application Tag, make sure that column is visible.
- Save regular views. If you export or review specific data regularly (like weekly new applicants), save the view so you don't have to re-apply multiple filters every time.
- Combine filters for precision. Use multiple filters simultaneously (e.g. Funnel A + Round 2 + Decision Needed) to isolate the exact group of applicants requiring action.
- Check Decision Needed daily. This is an efficient way for admins to keep the funnel moving without manually checking every round.
