Introduction to the Zapier Integration
The Zapier integration connects AcceleratorApp with thousands of external applications without requiring custom code. It allows you to automate repetitive tasks by creating "Zaps", automated workflows consisting of a trigger (an event that starts the workflow) and an action (an event performed in response).
This feature helps save time and reduces manual data entry, such as automatically syncing new applicant data to a CRM or sending notification emails when an event occurs.
Note: Access to Zapier integrations requires an active AcceleratorApp account with administrator permissions to access API keys.
Where to Find Zapier Integration Settings
Navigate to your top-right profile icon, then select Settings from the drop-down menu. Within the Settings menu, click on the Integrations tab.
Step-by-Step
1. Access the Zapier integration invite
Click this invitation link to create or log in to your Zapier account and gain access to the AcceleratorApp integration.
2. Generate and copy your API credentials in AcceleratorApp
Navigate to Account > Settings > Integrations within AcceleratorApp, and locate your Incubator Slug and API key.
3. Create a new Zap in Zapier
In your Zapier dashboard, click Create Zap to begin setting up your automated workflow.
4. Select the trigger application and event
Choose either AcceleratorApp or an external app as the Trigger, then select the specific Trigger Event that will start the workflow.
5. Connect your AcceleratorApp account to Zapier
When prompted by Zapier, enter the Incubator Slug and API key you copied from AcceleratorApp to authenticate your connection.
6. Select the action application and event
Choose the secondary app (either AcceleratorApp or an external app) and select the specific Action Event to be performed when the trigger occurs.
7. Test and publish your Zap
Test your Zap steps to ensure data flows correctly between the apps, then toggle your Zap to On.
Best Practices
Test with sample data first: Always run a test in Zapier using real sample data to verify field mappings before activating a Zap.
Keep API keys secure: Do not share your API key publicly or in unsecured channels, as it grants access to your AcceleratorApp data.
Avoid duplicate workflows: Ensure you do not set up circular triggers (e.g., App A triggers App B, which triggers App A back), which can cause infinite execution loops and exhaust your Zapier task limits.
